Corn and Callus
Corns and callus
Thickening of the skin is the body’s defence against the pressure of walking. Severe pressure causes a callus (thickened skin) to develop. As pressure is applied on the same position repetitively, that skin will thicken further causing a focused corn.
When the foot excessively pronates (rolls in), the distribution of pressure across the base of the foot is disturbed, causing corns and callus to develop.
Sole Control Insoles prevent this development by equalizing the pressures on the sole of the foot through limiting the amount of pronation.
